I can truly tailor the treatment to fit you and your unique needs , whether it is for medication management (personalized to your genetic makeup or not),

advice on holistic supplements, or psychotherapy.  And I am available to you

when you need me.  24/7.  Learn more by reading the rest of this page.

Medication Management

Sometimes it is easy to find the right medication and

you might already be on it and wish to continue it.

Often, however, many people have tried a myriad of medications

only to have them not work well, have too many side effects,

or just plain stop working.

A cutting edge tool to find the best medication for your genetic makeup

is now available.  It is called Personalized Medicine and looks at

how your medication-processing genes program your body to process

many different medications.

I can do this test with a mouth swab to help figure out which medication

is most likely to help you with the least side effects.  Click here to learn more.

I can also extrapolate these results to help you understand

how your body would likely process not only psychiatric medications,

but also general medical ones.

In doing these tests I find that most people who come to see me have

a genetic “variation” that can cause a slow-down in the production of the neurotransmitter brain chemicals that we need to concentrate well, stay calm,

and maintain a feeling of wellbeing.

The good news is that the problem is solved by

an activated vitamin supplement that is easily available

over the counter in low doses, and higher doses if needed by prescription.

Holistic Supplements

Many people want to avoid or minimize pharmaceuticals and would prefer more natural supplements.  I can offer informed advice about holistic supplements you can buy at your favorite health food store, or online.  I do not sell anything.

Routine Lab Screening

I will gladly order – if you haven’t recently had them - routine lab tests

to screen for easily treatable medical issues that affect emotions.

Examples are hypothyroidism, diabetes, and vitamin D deficiency.

Many insurance-driven providers do not have enough time

to be as thorough as they would like.  If you wish, I can collaborate with your other providers to help optimize your health.

The type of therapy I do helps you to understand, deal, with

and even benefit from your emotions.

To learn more about it please visit my psychotherapy page.

Even if you have another therapist and are coming only for medication,

I can help you to work with your emotions in a way

that will complement your other therapy.

All records are handwritten and locked away in file cabinets to which no one has access.  No electronic medical records because, as we all know,

they can be accessed.

Maybe that is not such a big deal for standard medical records or prescriptions.

It is quite common. But nobody wants his or her emotional and very private issues

to be stored in a mysterious “electronic cloud.”

I also have no staff.  No one will know you were here unless you tell them.

You will not have to wait long to get an appointment.

Each session is 55 minutes long. As you may have already realized,

there is no substitute for time.

And there is no substitute for reachability.

You can reach me easily and directly by text or by phone in an emergency.

Because I limit my practice, you won't have to wait more than a week to get an appointment.

Virtual Visits Available

You can do sessions via a HIPAA compliant video platform

after the initial in-person session, as long as you live in New York State.

This helps if you live far from the office or if there is bad weather.

Sometimes, if you are pressed for time, it is just plain convenient.

Though, because it is electronic it is not as securely private as in-office visits.

I think you will find that this is a unique practice for unique people!
