Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapy helps people to identify and express their emotions by accessing their bodily-felt experience of a problem or situation.  Since we all carry various emotions and stresses differently on different occasions, it is very helpful to recognize our bodily felt experience

of our situation or problem at any given time. Something like "gut feelings" only different.  Sometimes more like those unexplained physical symptoms that nag us and for which there is no medical cause.

This Felt Sense is a pathway through the many unclear, and often confusing, tangled-up parts of the problem or situation we face.  It brings us to a doorway into an unobstructed and often very bright space.

Tending to treat us gently, the Felt Sense allows us to dialogue with the different parts of our emotions without getting overwhelmed. It helps us know what we need and what we need to do.

As we work together, I can incorporate this as well as other more well-known therapeutic approaches.
